Last One

Well fellow peeps this is the last blog of the semester. I have to admit it has been a pain putting these blogs together before the deadline. When we were first told about posting blogs I thought it would be a piece of cake. Unfortunately, I was wrong. Every week I would put them off and tell myself that I would do them the following week but that too never happened. Yeah I guess you would call that procrastination. Hopefully it will not play a big role after this semester. I do want to graduate from Texas State in the next two years. I have to say some of the blogs I have read are pretty interesting and I had fun reading and commenting them.

David Ortiz $175,100

Sports Curses: Thursday evening at an auction the David Ortiz jersey sold for $175,100. Earlier this month the jersey was drilled out from under two feet of contrete at the construction where the new Yankee Stadium is to be built. A construction worker, a Red Sox fan, dropped the jersey in wet concrete during construction of the new stadium, hoping to hex the Yankees. Being a fan of the Boston Red Sox, I hope they can win the World Series this season.

100 Sexiest Women

According to FHM's annual 100 Sexiest Women in the World, Lauren Conrad ranks 95th. I personally think she should of have been ranked higher. Paris Hilton, who was ranked 77th, is sexy but not that sexy. Well at least Lauren Conrad was ranked higher than Britney Spears. If you would like to know Britney Spears was ranked 100th. Hopefully next year Conrad will move on up.

McDonalds

Yes ladies and gentlemen I have to say McDonalds is probably the best fastfood in the world. When I am broke I go there all the time to get something to eat. Dollar Menu, Baby!!! I mainly go there though for breakfast, for their sauage biscuit along with a large Dr. Pepper. Yep Dr. Pepper is the way to go if you want some caffine in the morning, come on I know some of us have 8 a.m. classes. You need the caffine to stay awake even if you do not have that 8 a.m. class, I know some of us have them boring professors that just drag on and on, especially in a monotone voice; after awhile you tend to get bored. What are some other places to get cheap breakfast?

SLOW JAMZ

While I was commenting on a few blogs I came across one blog about music. In this blog it referred to love songs or as most people call them, slow jamz. Anyway I just thought I post some "slow jamz" songs and see if others agree with me. If you know of any let me know so I can put them on my IPod. lol

Miami Dolphins

Tuesday evening Jake Long, the former Wolverines offensive tackle agreed to terms on a contract and will be the No. 1 overall pick by the Miami Dolphins. With the NFL Draft this Saturday and knowing who the No. 1 overall pick is already I guess I will still tune in to see who the No. 2 overall pick is. Not to take any excitement away from Jake Long and the Dolphins, but have you heard that Pacman Jones may be a Dallas Cowboy next season. WOW!!! I never thought he would play for the Cowboys, nevertheless be back on the football field.

Cavaliers 2-0

Monday night the Cleveland Cavaliers won 116-86 to take a 2-0 series lead against the Washington Wizards. With LeBron James scoring 30 points, 12 assists and nine rebounds the Cavaliers head to Washington for a crucial Game 3. I believe that Gilbert Arenas and DeShawn Stevenson would have to play their best basketball if they want to win a game in Washington. In Games 1 and 2 LeBron James has proven to DeShawn Stevenson and the Washington Wizards why he is "overrated."

Gas Prices

According to a survey of stations by AAA and the Oil Price Information Service, regular gas rose up 0.8 cent on Tuesday, April 22, soaring to a national average of $3.51 a gallon. Oil sets a new record above $119 a barrel. Wednesday, April 23, gas prices soar two cents overnight to a national average of $3.53 a gallon.

Likewise in the oil crises of 1973 and 1979, OPEC may once again dominate the world oil market even before world oil production peaks. But with discoveries of new fields in areas like the Caspian Sea about 30 billion barrels of oil are ready to be pumped out and another 50 billion barrels of oil to be found. It may seem like enough but some people think this deposit will not rescue the world.

Spurs 2-0

Tuesday night the San Antonio Spurs went head-to-head with the Phoenix Suns winning 102-96, to take a 2-0 lead in the series. With no three-pointer from Tim Duncan, Tony Parker scores 32 points with seven assists and Manu Ginobili with 29 points. Outscoring the Suns in the paint, 56-42 ,the Spurs also take advantage of the fast-break points, outscoring the Suns 23-4. Going back to Phoenix for Game 3 and 4 can the Spurs steal one away from the Suns.

Finals

Well as most of you know finals can be very stressful. Already have taken my PFW final, which she basically gave us the answers to, is out of the way. Now I have to focus on my Geography, Math and English finals along with these meaningless blogs were supposed to keep up with. My Geography and Math final should be alright. Our English final is a prompt that she will give us and we have to write an essay about it. For our final she is letting us use our laptops but the problem is that my laptop is not functioning to well so yeah it is basically broken and I need a new one. I hope all goes well with this English final.

This Semester

Well this semester is a lot better than my first semester. My first semester here at Texas State I was taking my basics because I was not sure of what I wanted to major in. Entering my second semester I switched my major to Education (Early Childhood-4); I want to be a Kindergarten teacher, teach them little "rugrats" lol. Anyway now that I know what I want to major in I am actually taking the classes I need. My Math 2311 is basically math that elementary students are learning in classes, which I have to say is pretty intense. If everything works out we will have to see what Math 2312 has in store for me. Hopefully teaching Kindergarten kids will be a lot easier, just maybe.

Any suggestions on how I should go about teaching Kindergarten? I have to say volunteering at the Kindergarten school I attended is giving me a heads up on what to expect, so far so good.

NBA Playoffs

Watching the first game between the Washington Wizards and Cleveland Cavaliers was a great start to the NBA Championship. Only watching the first half of the game though I think this series is going to be a good one. With the first half coming to an end I have to admit LeBron James is one heck of a basketball player. LeBron James put on a show scoring 32 points, giving the Cleveland Cavaliers a 93-86 win and most important of all the 1-0 lead in the series. If you saw his dunk in the first half I have to say Gilbert Arenas and DeShawn Stevenson have their hands full in Game 2, or Round 2, Monday night.

GO SPURS GO!!! Double overtime and Manu Ginobili scoring the game-winning layup with less than 2 seconds left take Game 1. Putting on a show scoring 40 points, 15 rebounds and a clutch 3-pointer Tim Duncan shows the Phoenix Suns why the San Antonio Spurs are the defending champs. With the Western Conference being stronger than any other year, which ever team escapes this battle will need to regroup quick because with the Lakers, Celtics, Pistons, Utah waiting for either one, will not take it easy on them. So winning Game 1 I think the Spurs now have a better chance of winning the series but who knows.

This Summer

This summer is not much different than any other summers, work, make money and coach a summer baseball team. Every year my summer has consisted of work, more work, and more work but this summer it should be a little exciting. Not exciting like it used to be in high school, go work with friends, then go out with friends, staying up just having fun. Now that I am living the college life and having the responsibilities of an adult this summer will not be like others. Everyday, all day go to work for eight hours then come home and take care of things that need to be taken care of around the house. I remember telling myself everyday before graduation, I can not wait to graduate and get out of this school. As most of us know it by now we kind of wish we were still in high school so that we could still be living with our parents and maybe, just maybe they could still be buying us things. I do not know but maybe it is just me that feels this way, maybe some of you still work and still can find time to have fun but if you do let me know what you are doing so I can do the same and maybe my summer will not be so boring.

Well since I am coaching a summer baseball team maybe it will not be so boring after all because I am doing something that I really like to do. That is to play and coach the game of baseball.

Registration

As you know early regristration for next semester were last Thursday and I have to say I am pretty satisfied with my classes. Well after looking at rate my professor for professors and their evaluations I got all the classes and professors that I wanted, except for one class but that was because it was closed already. So entering my sophmore year I hope all goes well. I am majoring in Education so one of the classes that I need is Music. I heard that it is an easy class, all we do is learn songs for the little kids that we will be teaching. Growing up I really do not remember all the songs that we would sing in Kindergarten so this class should bring back memories. I am really looking forward to this class, it should be fun.

This is weird but I was just wondering, what would it be like if we as teachers came up with an education song or used the same songs we grew up with but used the beats to like Chris Brown, T-Pain, Flo-Rida, Timberland, or P. Diddy (or whatever name he goes by now)?

PFW Final

Well my PFW final was basically put your name, date and pay attention while she gave you the answers to the four questions. EASY A!!! I know, why can't all professors exams be like this one. Our grade for that class was just basically show up to class everyday, go run like 25 minutes and keep a journal with your workouts. But even being a cross country and track runner in high school, this class was not really that hard at all, so if you need it, take it. So yeah if you are looking for an easy A for a PFW class take Mrs. Smith for jogging/conditioning. Now with one exam down now I can focus on my other classes and with a little time to waste I can watch the NBA Playoffs.

Now that I have one PFW class out the way, does anyone know what other PFW class I should take?

This Week...

This week will actually be my last week in my PFW jogging and conditioning class. With our last mile and an half timed running last week, I am kind of glad it is over. Anyway our final review is tomorrow and we are supposed to turn in our jogging journals. Well I have not been keeping up with it since the past couple of weeks so we will have to see what kind of grade I will get for that. Our final is this Thursday, but I really do not know what our final would be for a class like that. Well anyway I can not wait til this Thursday to get that class done with so I can relax and focus on my other classes.

Besides focusing on classes, this week I will be going to watch my little cousins play Little League Baseball. Everytime they ask me to go watch them I am not able to go because of school work but this week I will be going; hopefully they will be excited to see me at their baseball game. Not only will that be taking place on Wednesday but I have my last and final test in math before the final. To be honest my Math 2311 class it pretty intense because growing up I never was taught some of the things these elementary students are learning in classes these days. I never knew teaching would be this hard.

Kansas Jayhawks: Final Four Champions

Well last week was like any other week, the Final Four. Monday night I tuned into watch the Final Four, Kansas Jayhawks and Memphis Tigers. With no more than a minute left on the game clock the Memphis Tigers were forced to shoot critical free-throws. As the Memphis coach expressed his thoughts in interviews, about critical free-throws that needed to be made, he was not worried about them at all. He said in interviews that his team could knock free-throws down when the time came. Unfortunately, when it came down to making the free-throws, Memphis missed three important free-throws the last 25 seconds of regulation. Going into overtime, the Kansas Jayhawks were hungier and wanted it more than Memphis. Congratulations Kansas Jayhawks!!!

Now that the NCAA basketball season is over, it is time to tune into the NBA Playoffs. GO SPURS GO!!! With the Spurs resting their starters before the playoffs, I think is a very good idea because whoever they play in the first round, they will make them work for their shots. The Western Conference is getting stronger every year.

Final Four: Memphis Tigers vs. Kansas Jayhawks

Well I just got home from school and with time to waste I think I will write a little blog. To be honest I really do not know how many of these blogs were supposed to have by now so here is one for the time being.

As most of you know tonight is the Final Four Championship game between the Memphis Tigers and the Kansas Jayhawks. Kicking off March Madness I was hoping that Texas or Texas A&M would be playing for the championship but with Texas losing to Memphis I guess that will not be happening. Now that I wanted Tyler Hansbrough and the Tarheels to win the Final Four and stomp over Kansas, that too does not look like it happened. So with the Memphis Tigers and the Kansas Jayhawks going at it tonight, even though beating the Texas Longhorns I would like for the Memphis Tigers to put a butt whooping on the Kansas Jayhawks.

Does anyone know how many of these blogs were supposed to have right now?
